2015 H.O.W. Convention

The Homeschoolers of Wyoming state convention is a wonderful place and great opportunity to meet with other homeschooling families, hear inspiring and encouraging speakers, and view curriculum and educational resources. Make plans now to attend the annual HOW State Convention June 5th & 6th in Powell. The HOW convention is designed to equip all home educating parents to educate their children with excellence by bringing together a variety of speakers, workshops, curriculums, and educational materials for the entire family.
It will held on Friday, June 5th, and Saturday, June 6th. We will have several speakers on an assortment of topics, including Homeschooling Through Highschool, Beginning Homeschooling, and breakout Mother's & Father's sessions. Keynote Speaker — Andrew Pudewa
Andrew is the founder, principal speaker, and director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW®). Presenting throughout North America, he addresses issues relating to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling, and music with clarity, insight, practical experience, and humor. His seminars for parents, students, and teachers have helped transform many a reluctant writer and have equipped educators with powerful tools to dramatically improve students' skills.
Although he is a graduate of the Talent Education Institute in Japan (Suzuki Method) and holds a Certificate of Child Brain Development, his best endorsement is from a young Alaskan boy who called him "the funny man with the wonderful words." He and his beautiful, heroic wife Robin are parents of seven, grandparents of five, and educators of their two youngest children at home in Oklahoma's Green Country.

Keynote Speaker — David C. Gibbs, III
Attorney David C. Gibbs, III is the President and General Counsel of the National Center for Life and Liberty, a ministry organization that defends life and liberty freedoms nationwide. Mr. Gibbs speaks regularly to audiences in churches and conferences while also litigating cases as a trial attorney. He hosts the weekly radio programs Law Talk Live, Law Talk 5, and Law Talk Weekend and has authored five books, including Fighting for Dear Life and Understanding the Constitution.
Attorney Gibbs graduated from Duke Law School and manages the Gibbs Law Firm with offices in Dallas, Texas; St. Petersburg, Florida, and Washington, D.C. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and numerous federal circuit and district courts nationwide. He has also been admitted to the State Bars of Florida, Minnesota, Colorado, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan and the District of Columbia.
Attorney Gibbs was the lead attorney in the Terri Schiavo case representing the parents as they fought to save the life of their daughter. This case went before the United States Supreme Court twice in ten days. Mr. Gibbs is a frequent spokesperson on radio and television having appeared on many major news and talk programs.
Attorney Gibbs believes: "If it's wrong, fight it. If it's right, fight for it." His life verse is Matthew 25:40, where Jesus said, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

James R. Glenn is a teacher at heart who coaches students to focus, decide and succeed.
He has studied and worked alongside families as a ministry program leader, mentor, speaker, author and counselor for the last 20 years.
James has a unique presentation style that is sure to keep his audiences engaged and entertained!
As Director of Student Life for CollegePlus, he is able to pursue his passion of helping students make
wise decisions, find their calling and become the best they can be.

Volunteers—HOW needs you!
The 2014 Convention will be the best yet, however volunteers are needed. This year, we will have two classes of volunteers: Standard volunteers who will help to clean and organize events, and leadership volunteers who will help to host sessions. For leadership volunteers, we will be offering a $10 discount on convention attendance, so please contact us to express interest before signing up to attend.
