Three months and counting! The days are quickly speeding by. Where did January go? All right since I am a nice guy I am going to give you this month off in your Convention recruitment efforts. Instead of visiting with homeschoolers in your area about the convention I want you to pray for all the homeschoolers in your area. Here is a prayer list for the month. 1. Pray for their homeschooling efforts. This is the time of year that cabin fever sets in, and/or panic when we realize that summer will be here before we know it and we are behind in this subject or that subject. 2. Pray for their faith to be strengthened. We do what we do not just because of academics, but because we have been called to minister to our families in this way. Homeschooling is a part of living out our faith in raising up the next generation for Jesus Christ. 3. Pray that you might be given open doors and opportunities to invite others to join you at the convention. Ask God to provide you the means to invite 1, 2 or 3 families and provide the means to pay for their registration. 4. Pray for our nation and thank God for the freedom to homeschool. Enjoy your family this month.
(Don't worry I'll get you back into recruting next month) And don't forget to check out the Walking in the Promises website here.
Parental Rights Update
There are now 129 Co-Sponsors in the House of Representatives and 6 Co-Sponsors in the Sentate for the Parental Rights Amendment. No changes from last month. I suggest we email Senator Enzi and Senator Barasso monthly or maybe weekly and politely ask them to support S.J. Res 16, the Parental Rights Amendment. Our leaders need to hear from us. Recommended Resources for February
Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham. I know this was listed before but true confessions are good for the soul, right? I had this on my shelf for over a year and didn't read it. Now I am kicking myself. This is my new favorite book. Not only do I believe every Homeschooling family needs to have a copy but every Christian needs to read this. Eye opening answers for why we are losing the next generation. Solutions for the Church today.

Meet Me In Cheyenne|
By Todd Smith
This Saturday, February 6th at 1:30 is the First Annual Legislative Prayer Rally in Cheyenne. This event will last 1 to 1 1/2 hours and is at the Capitol Building. This is an opportunity for Christians to unite and pray. This is not a protest. It is not a political rally, it is an opportunity for prayer. My family and I will be driving 10+ hours on Saturday to be there and we invite you to join us. I know it is a sacrifice. I know it will cost you time and money to be there. I plan on being tired on Sunday as I prepare to preach a sermon and minister to my congregation but I wouldn't miss this for the world. Join me! Take the day and meet me at the capitol. Let us as Christians lead the way in changing our world through prayer.
So often we get the mistaken notion that prayer is sort of a back-up plan. Have you ever heard anyone say, "well I can't do much, but at least I can pray."? Prayer is being on the frontlines in the battle between good and evil. Eph. 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood.
Samuel Chadwick a preacher in England in the 1800's said, "The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray." Let's give him something to tremble about this Saturday in Wyoming!

Some of you who read this article have wayward children and/or grandchildren. My heart goes out to you. Over the years I have discussed this issue with many heartbroken parents and grandparents. Their tears affirm that there are few things as painful and disconcerting for Christian adults than the open wound of prodigal children. If you find yourself in this troubled place, I pray your grief will continually engage your parental love to seek your sonís and/or daughterís spiritual wellbeing. It is, to be sure, a painful pursuit but it is one that cannot be ignored. The stakes are eternal and the potential windfall indescribably joyful. more...
