2012 Convention Evaluated
We sure appreciate the written feedback from families at convention. Overall people were, as always, blessed and encouraged by the convention. When asked about the best parts people responded, the main speaker, "Hearing the great things taught from Kevin Swanson...," ABC’s of Homeschooling workshop, "Thanks Donna," "Mr. and Mrs. Swanson’s messages confirmed what God is telling us for our family," vendor hall, and that the convention is "Christ focused."

Overwhelmingly the children’s program is a hit with some indicating that the Action Impact Ministries Team (AIM) is one of the main reasons they attend, "My kids talk about what they’ve learned all year, and teach other kids the skits and verses they’ve learned. Love AIM team!!"

Regarding the suggested improvements and changes many good ideas were given such as more workshops for the nuts and bolts of homeschooling, special needs, single moms, and a main speaker with a focus on math, science or English.

HOW Board Meeting Follow-Up
Everyone feels the encouragement of the convention is such a blessing and helps keep us all homeschooling with more ideas and enthusiasm. Many, including several county contacts offered to assist. With all HOW conventions volunteers have made it possible and have taken on large jobs such as providing the food for the ladies’ tea and ice cream social and managing the children’s program volunteers and snacks. However, with the board dwindling in size due to members moving to other ministries, moving out of state, etc., and no one led to step forward as president of HOW at this time, planning a convention will be delayed until there is closer to a full complement of seven board families and someone to serve as president.

We hope the board will grow and that we will soon be able to plan another convention. In the meantime, we would sure appreciate input from everyone regarding the other ministries of HOW: contact hub for people new to homeschooling or moving to Wyoming, website, enews, HOW Facebook, and family legislation.
