Dear Representative Lummis:
Homeschoolers of Wyoming wishes to congratulate you on your election to the United States House of Representatives and to thank you ahead of time for the family-protective voting record we anticipate. Homeschoolers of Wyoming (HOW) is a Christian organization which provides encouragement and support for families providing their own funding and time to educate their children. Our membership consists of over 750 families across Wyoming.
The purpose of this letter is to request that you join the 23 Representatives (and this number is growing) who are sponsoring H.J. Res. 97, Parental Rights Amendment.
Parents play a vital role in raising their children. Maintaining the rights of parents is the best way to protect children and strengthen families and the US Supreme Court has continually upheld these rights. But, we now find that our historic American rights are being threatened by right-eroding international law. We are particularly concerned with the possible ratification of the United Nations treaty on the Convention for the Rights of the Child. Only a US constitutional amendment will protect American children and parents since the treaty will override all state constitutions. This treaty is a threat to children, parents, and national sovereignty. We do not want the UN ruling in American courtrooms and homes.
Representative Lummis, we beseech you to study this problem of international interference and the solution offered by H.J. Res. 97. Please become one of its sponsors today. For more information regarding this amendment, please visit www.parentalrights.org
Sincerely,
HOW Board:
